Read below about the pneumatic clutch mechanisms with couplings for regular duty that are one of a comprehensive range of products made by MACH III and supplied online from the UK-based Marshward Ltd.
This particular friction clutch coupling engages with air pressure and when the air is exhausted it is spring released. When air pressure is applied the torque is linear.
For mounting this pneumatic clutch mechanism comes supplied with special screws and a key that connects the coupling hub to a supported shaft and the clutch mechanism to the main shaft. To prevent premature failure, ach shafts needs to be accurately aligned. Also, an anti-rotation arm is needed to prevent the air housing from rotating.
The clutch couplings are horizontally mounted, but if vertical mounting is required please consult your engineer for options. Please note though that the clutch coupling mechanism DOESN'T support the coupling half.
They are connected and disconnected via two fully supported shafts. And the maximum RPM of the pneumatic clutch mechanisms with couplings varies by model. If the intended application exceeds the listed maximum RPM, please consult your engineer.
Both the pneumatic clutch mechanism and coupling are half-bored to suit up to the maximum shown (US and Metric) and to accept differing shaft sizes. For the same price it is available with either high or low coefficient friction linings.
