The Eaton Airflex CS pneumatic brakes are drum-style, air-released, and spring-applied. A major feature of this brake is that  should an air or electrical loss of power occur they engage automatically. The CS pneumatic brake also develops less torque in the reverse direction of drum rotation and is unidirectional. The types of applications on which they are used include hoists, power shovels, drag lines, stamping presses, power shovels, and conveyors.

Its static torque capacities go up to: 19,800 lb·in, 2.235 N·m.

The standard sizes are: 4CS150, 6CSA200, 9CSA200, 12CSA200, 15CS300, 18CS300.
