As a spring applied, manually released disc brake the EFP Disc Brakes are electrically activated and will offers a reliable and safe braking solution in a rotation or linear movement.

These innovative disc brakes are also single acting and self aligning. This means they're highly suitable for industrial applications with axial movements and an installation space that is limited.

Placed on a support, the EFP disc unit is made of one active side and one passive. The active side contains two spring packs. The passive contains one sliding unit. When braking is applied, the sliding unit is dropped by de-energising the solenoid.

The sliding unit design offers an instant applied brake force that raises progressively until it reaches its maximum amount. The unit slides downwards, aligning the EFP disc brake and compressing the spring packs - dependent on your requested brake torque.

These particular disc brakes have a braking force of 14000 N - 120000 N. They are supplied in four sizes, all of which are delivered with on/off proximity switches and 230 V AC of solenoid voltage.
